FAT DISSOLVING

INJECTIONS

What Are Fat Dissolving Injections?

Fat-dissolving injections, such as Aqualyx, are non-surgical treatments designed to target and reduce localized fat deposits. These injections break down fat cells, allowing the body to naturally metabolize and eliminate them over time. They are commonly used to contour specific areas of the face and body, including the chin, abdomen, thighs, and hips, particularly where fat is resistant to diet and exercise.

What Does It Contain?

The active ingredient in Aqualyx is Deoxycholic Acid, a compound naturally found in the body. Deoxycholic Acid emulsifies fat, aiding its breakdown for natural elimination. Aqualyx injections work by disrupting fat cells, which are then metabolized and expelled by the body over time.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Typically, 2-4 treatment sessions are recommended for facial areas, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. For body treatments, 3-8 sessions may be required, with treatments scheduled every 2-4 weeks. Some individuals see results after a single session, but a full course is often advised for optimal fat reduction.

Treatment sessions usually last 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of the treated area. Post-treatment care includes massaging the area once or twice daily and staying hydrated by drinking at least 2 liters of water per day. To aid recovery, avoid heat exposure, such as sunbathing, saunas, or steam rooms, for two weeks, and refrain from strenuous exercise for one week.

Reported Side Effects

Common side effects include redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising at the injection site, as well as a tight or tingling sensation. These effects occur as the active ingredients begin breaking down fat cells. Numbness, itching, or a slightly hardened texture in the treated area may also persist for a few weeks post-treatment.

The downtime for these side effects is typically 7-10 days, allowing the body to recover and start the fat elimination process effectively.
